High performance, highly portable projector heralds the widescreen future

Hitachi Digital Media Group today announced the launch of the CPX3, an ultra portable, WXGA LCD projector offering mobile professionals a bright 1280x800, HD compatible image in true widescreen. Building on the success of the CPX1 and packaged in the same low weight compact chassis, this versatile, easy to use projector is suitable for multiple applications in office, home or mobile environments.

“With an ever increasing number of 16:10 widescreen laptops in business use, customers have been asking for projectors with a matching resolution in a highly portable package. Without compromising on performance, size or weight the CPX3 provides an ideal partner for mobile professionals and their laptops,” said Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. “We see that the future is ‘wide’ and the CPX3 welcomes that era with 1280x800 resolution and HDMI connectivity.”

The CPX3 weighs in at only 1.7Kg and measures a sleek 274x205x59mm. Despite such portable packaging this innovative little projector packs a big performance punch, delivering 2000(lm), a contrast ratio of 500:1 and a 60” image at a throw distance of only 1.9m. A simple setting also allows users to easily switch between 16:10, 16:9 and 4:3 images. Connectivity in provided by an HDMI input and two RGB inputs and the new audio pass though feature allows users to output audio even when the projector is on standby.

The CPX3 is also packed with many of the popular capabilities of the latest Hitachi projectors including the three second quick start and direct power on/off, auto vertical keystone correction, whiteboard, blackboard and greenboard modes and input source naming. In common with all Hitachi projectors the CPX3 includes a resilient, multi level security capability such as password and PIN lock protection a transition detector and the “My Text” feature that enables personalisation of the start up screen.

The Hitachi CPX3 is available across Europe from April 2008.
